Greetings
Last weekend, I spoke at an event on the Gold Coast.
The client's business model was unusual in that it is a franchise group in which the franchisees also have ownership of the parent business, so the vested interest runs in both directions, the second part being similar to a co-operative.
This results in a deeper relationship and greater accountability.
Over the past couple of years we have had numerous requests to stage Personal Empowerment and Speaking Master Classes that are open to non-corporate clients, so you have the opportunity to participate in one or both on May 14 and 15. The number is limited to 15, and all registrants will receive special bonus gifts valued at $497.

"Ooops!"
Two letters apart on the keyboard, but trillions of dollars were wiped off the US stock market. A trader, apparently from Citigroup, reportedly hit the "b" key instead of the "m" key and sold a billion Procter & Gamble shares, causing the Dow Jones to plummet before partly recovering.
Doh!
Attention to detail.

Want to live to 100?
if you want to live to 100, be the person at the party to greet total strangers.
Research shows that having an outgoing personality might be one of the hallmark traits of people who live to a ripe old age.
They recently examined the personalities of adult offspring of centenarians, with the assumption that the offspring have a good shot at living to 100.
Researchers found that personality might play a role in longevity. The offspring were not only more outgoing but also had a knack for forming close friendships and for dealing with stress effectively.
It makes sense when you consider other research has shown that these particular personality traits are associated with greater happiness, vitality, and a longer life.
Don't come from a long line of centenarians? What you don't inherit, you can adopt. You can embrace healthy lifestyle choices and develop positive personality traits.
Strategies to help you get started:
Love your life.
Nurture the circle.
Increase the quality and length of your life with strong social ties.
Mind your mood. Most of us tend to think negatively. For every negative perception, there is a positive perception of the same magnitude. Just find it.
A scientist friend who specialises in longevity says that, with personalised drugs, in the next twenty years we will have the technology to live to 150. Bring it on! I have too much to do.

Does Fantasizing Affect Your Focus?
The Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin reported on the effects of sexual fantasies in the workplace.
Researchers at the Universities of Amsterdam and Groningen and Jacobs University Bremen found that when the subjects were asked to think about their long-term, loving relationship, they performed well on creative tasks and scored worse on analytical questions and the reverse was true when the subjects thought about short-term sex.
They determined that the relationship thinkers are more focused on the big picture, left-brain creativity and the sex-thinkers were more detail-driven.
So when you are faced with a task, you now know which fantasy will be most beneficial.

Eastern-Western Quotes on Balance
"When all things are seen with equal mind, they return to their nature." - Seng-T'san
"The simple-minded use of the notions of 'right' or 'wrong' is one of the chief obstacles to the progress of understanding." - Alfred North Whitehead
"Excessive pains or pleasures are justly to be regarded as the greatest disease to which the soul is liable. For a man who is in great pleasure or in great pain, in his unreasonable eagerness to attain the one and avoid the other, is not able to see or hear anything right; he is mad and at the time utterly incapable of any participation in reason." - Plato
"The considerations of the intelligent always include both benefit and harm. As they consider benefit, their work can expand; as they consider harm, their trouble can be resolved." - Sun-Tzu
"You carry heaven and hell with you." - Sri Ramana Maharishi |
